When music is banned in Afghanistan, an orchestra director and his son, a tuba player, flee the country along the Balkan route in search of a fresh start. During this never-ending journey, their fates become intertwined with that of an Italian doctor, an encounter that will change the lives of these two refugees and the young woman forever.
